Mama Never Said There Would Be Days Like This!!!

As I hang up the phone from a counseling session with one of my men-tees I realized that there are so many things that "MAMA NEVER TOLD US" and I guess she never told us because she felt it wasn't her place or maybe she was never told herself.  Or maybe there are just somethings we are meant to learn on our own. So tonight I decided to write down a couple of things "Mama Never Shared".

1) Men will be men and if you run into one that need tweaking just to fit into your standards keep it moving. It's not your job to change a man or try to make him better.
2) If you allow a man to walk all over you, he will. A person will only do what you allow them too.
3) If you forgive someone, forgive them from the bottom of your heart and leave it in the past. Don't hold on to old hurt to hold it over a person's head.
4) Just because your a Christian doesn't mean you have to be stuffy in your relationship. It's OK to dance, smile, be a woman and enjoy the company of your mate, because we seem to forget that all relationships need to be refueled every now and then. It's OK to keep it exciting.
5) Don't tell everything that goes on in your relationship, because every relationship has problems and everything is not for everyone to know. If you need to talk to someone, seek the advice of a pastor, counselor or mentor.
6) If a man hit you once 9 times out of 10 he will do it again.
7) You have to be a realist when it comes to your in-laws. Although, they may love you with all their heart and soul they are still his family. So enjoy the love while your in the relationship and if the relationship should end, don't be upset or surprised that they love the next person as much as they loved you. It's only fair.
8) MAKE SURE YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE AND WHAT YOU WANT AND STAND FOR BEFORE ENTERING ANY RELATIONSHIP. IT WILL HELP YOU AVOID A LOT OF HEARTACHE.

If you can think of a couple of other things Mama never said, don't be afraid to add it..
